After a number of queries from parents regarding the starting age for small sided games I have sough clarification from the Leeuwin Naturaliste Junior Soccer Assoication and Football West regarding the status of five (5) year olds playingthis year. The official statement follows:

Players have to be turning 5 in 2009 to be eligible to play.

This means that any four (4) year old who wishes to playu and is physically ready can play so long as they turn five (5) in 2009. This is great news for youngsters who will be playing the new Small Sided Games format.
